Enhanced learning spaces at RAK Academy Khuzam

 

PMKConsult has successfully delivered the turnkey refurbishment of the RAK Academy Khuzam campus, Ras Al Khadijah, in partnership with Havelock One Interiors, supporting the transformation of one of the UAE's longest-established international schools.

Commissioned by Marjan, the project involved the refurbishment of more than 226,000 sq. ft. of educational facilities, enhancing learning environments while ensuring the campus remained fully operational throughout the works.

The scope included the refurbishment of the reception area, café, library, classrooms, restrooms and circulation spaces, as well as the complete renovation of the existing swimming pool and the construction of a new pool facility.

Marjan Design Lab (MDL) reimagined the campus layout to better support modern teaching and learning. Underutilised spaces were transformed into open learning environments, creating collaborative areas that encourage interaction and movement.

PMKConsult was initially appointed as Lead Design Consultant and Project & Cost Management Consultant, overseeing design coordination, cost planning and stakeholder management. Through close collaboration with Marjan and Havelock One, the team successfully value-engineered the project, achieving a 31% reduction against initial project cost estimates while maintaining the design vision.

Following the appointment of Havelock One as Design & Build Contractor, PMKConsult's role expanded to include Project Management, Commercial Management, Site Supervision and Architect of Record services, ensuring quality, programme control and consistency throughout delivery.
