The Project

EZW developed a build-to-suit logistics facility for C&J Energy Ltd., an American Oil Exploration company with an aggressive expansion plan within the Middle East. The warehouse is 6,000 sqm with an additional office area of 3,500 sqm. There is an extensive parking facility for heavy and light vehicles. We delivered project management services to deliver a fully functional warehouse and corporate offices from concept to completion. Our work involved programme development and implementation and management of the stakeholder sphere. The project was to be delivered within a tight budget and timeline to suit the client’s rapid expansion and presence in the region

Our Appointment

Our appointment on this project began at the design and build stage. We developed and facilitated the construction of the warehouse and offices managing large international firms from contractors to architectural firms. Our approach followed our tried and tested methodology for project management delivery and entailed a detailed review of the original project brief, the facilitation of the design through concept to preliminary and the overseeing of the tender process including successful negotiations with the awarded contractor. Monitoring and continual maintenance of the programme in addition to a stringent oversight on the client’s budget were all a part of our responsibilities and service to the client.

The Benefit

Through our early involvement, we were able to de-risk the procurement process to the benefit of both EZW and C&J. The latter half of the procurement process became a single tender negotiation that enabled the project budget to be met successfully. A close working relationship between all parties was established and we were able to bring commercial skills and business acumen to assist and guide EZW’s development appraisal. By taking on a proactive role in timeline and budget management we were able to protect our client’s investment. The expansion exercise of C&J Energy Ltd. began with this facility and the company has continued to grow regionally.
