The Project

The sports facilities comprise of a large 30 meter high air domes with indoor sports fields, prefabricated G+1 “clubhouse’s” consisting of 20 custom fabricated shipping container’s containing a reception area, waiting rooms, large male and female changing and shower facilities, a F&B outlet and an operations office with open workspaces, closed offices, control room and meeting facilities. With the Air Dome in Dammam being 13,120 sqm and Riyadh being 9,840 sqm the domes are set to be the largest air structures in the region, providing the largest open span dedicated sports facility in Saudi Arabia. Externally the facilities have dedicated interlock and landscaped parking areas.

Our Appointment

Our role entails delivering complete multipurpose sports facilities in the cities of Riyadh and Dammam in KSA. Our task was to act as client representative for and on behalf of Duplays whilst carrying out multidisciplined services to bring this project to fruition. We are ensuring the development is in line with SFA’s requirements whilst meeting Duplays operational requirements. Having worked with Duplays on a number of these unique air dome and Club House projects, we managed the entire tender and appointment process for each consultant, the prefabrication specialist contractor, the main contractor and sports flooring and equipment specialists.

The Benefit

Our local knowledge, expertise and experience brings significant benefit to Duplays to assist them in navigating a difficult approval process due to many restrictions and constraints faced on the preselected plots. With our in-house design and cost management service, we are able to develop mitigation strategies and identify implications of the constraints. We managed the design development in line with SFA requirements and in line with budgetary parameters set. Because we are overseeing the development of these facilities in multiple cities, we are able to benchmark best practice from other projects being facilitated. These air domes are the first-of-its-kind in the region.
