The Project

As Jetex is a Dubai-based company, they wanted their Dubai FBO lounge to stand out from the rest. The aviation company required a showcase lounge to challenge the industry expectation for VIP lounge design. Therefore, the project brief was to design a calming oasis for VIP travelers and offer an escape from the traditional lounge experience. The lounge amenities requested included a coffee/ refreshment bar, electronic device charging areas, and relaxation spaces for VIP passengers and their crew. The design was based around nature and the desire to offer an oasis of calm through the use of biophilic design and internal landscaping.

Our Appointment

We were appointed as design, cost, and project managers at the concept design phase of the project to develop the design according to the client brief. We engaged the design team for both Interior design and engineering to design the lounge. We further managed the contractor procurement, construction and handover of the facility within a 5-month timeframe. The procurement of a grade-A contractor helped to ensure that the high-end bespoke design was achieved. Particular attention was required when constructing the joinery pods and also while installing the landscaping elements and ensuring the plants were suitable for the environment.

The Benefit

The challenging and ambitious design was achieved through the procurement of grade A designers and contractors, and the careful co-ordination of both, throughout all project phases, which were handled by our team. The end result was a highly unique lounge that achieved the requirements set out by the client at the concept stage of the project. The lounge was unveiled at the 2017 Dubai Airshow and has since received glowing reviews from the industry and continues to be well received by Jetex’s VIP clientele. The lounge design has been recognized by a regional industrial publishing house as ‘Best Design’, and also received nomination accolades from other prominent design and interiors publications.
