Linkforce SG1 Main Infrastructure Upgrade in Live Data Center

Linkforce is the leading integrated maintenance services provider from Western Australia and serving the world. The end-using client in this project is Confidential. We worked with Linkforce’s Singapore-based MEP Contracting entity, which specializes in most complex of installations and data centres, and acted as their representatives to deliver the requirements for this private client located in the South Asian nation-state.

The Project

We were commissioned to supply Project and Construction Management skills and to act as Linkforce’s representatives in all matters with the data centre owner. Linkforce was appointed to carry out the main infrastructure upgrade within a line data centre. The entity had rapidly outgrown its existing infrastructure and with a growing client base, the works had to be carried out without any disruption to the centre’s operations or risk to the business. The project had to be carried out within a tight timeframe to bring the data centre up to its new capacity to ensure growth sustainability.

Our Appointment

Using our tried and tested approach, we carried out an extensive and detailed review of the risk and programme issues, which allowed us to a propose suitable mitigation strategy. This strategy ensured that the existing facility was not compromised. Works included the installations of and diversion to a temporary central cooling plant, essential power supplies and mains distribution, the installation of all new central cooling plant power distribution circuitry, the removal of existing cooling plant, mains distribution, and the installation of all new central cooling plant power distribution; in addition to controls, BMS, and CCTV.

The Benefit

Upon completion of the construction works, all systems underwent full integrated testing and validation process. This extensive process was carefully controlled and managed by our team. The client benefited from a seamless transition. The process was monitored so well that
when the final the switchboard to the new infrastructure took place, there was no setback to be mitigated. As a result of our involvement, the project was completed ahead of programme and within the client’s budget. This flawless implementation and impeccable cost control and
programme management resulted in Linkforce winning further work and taking their client relationship forward.
