The Project
This project required a complete refurbishment to operate as a 5-star floating Hotel. The QE2 required modernization and updates to equip it for the Dubai environment while safeguarding its celebrated heritage and tradition. Because it was built several decades ago, the modernization required changing and replacing some materials to bring it into accordance with new safety codes. The hot climate of Dubai also meant that new MEP considerations were required to accommodate guests even at the hottest times of the year. While the hotel was to retain its heritage, the restaurant and bar was to be completely refurbished to appeal to new guests.
