Somewhere Hotel - Hotel Refurbishment

Somewhere Hotels are new players in the UAE for hospitality and serviced apartments. The Budget Hotelier expects to grow and expand throughout the region as the leading provider of low-cost accommodation for business, transiting and holiday making clients. Its contemporary facilities provide innovative spaces of relaxation and comfort, with a style that defines the upmost contemporary hospitality including dining areas, bars, and conference rooms. Its rooftop area accommodates a pool, fully equipped fitness center, and a wellness spa.

The Project

Somewhere Hotel is located in Deira City Centre. The Hotel consists of over 100 bedrooms and serviced apartments, a 24-hour restaurant, coffee lounge, outdoor bar and leisure amenities to include a swimming pool, spa lounge and gymnasium. The hotel required a complete refurbishment throughout the hotel to refresh the hotel’s look and feel. The project was to project manage the refurbishment and fit out of all food and beverage areas, leisure facilities and circulation areas, throughout the hotel. A full assessment was required to go through in detail the level of work that was required throughout these areas.

Our Appointment

To carry out our appointment we began our involvement by conducting a detailed review of the existing infrastructure and advised and supported the project delivery team on client requirements and regulatory compliance obligations. We also managed this implementation through to successful commissioning and operational set-up. Through our investigation and analysis, we were able to lead the business through an “option study”, culminating in the development of a long-term strategic plan. We identified all areas that required significant works, areas that had minimal requirements, and those that were critical. We created the process and prioritized the work accordingly.

The Benefit

We delivered a full analysis in a series of presentations and reports. This approach allowed the client to understand the process and logic behind our recommendations and also enabled certain works to proceed. Some of the works we identified through the analysis were deemed as critical by our team. This approach helped mitigate against the risk of delays to business operations and ensured full compliance with all Regulatory Authority bodies. Due to our attention to detail and thoroughness, subsequent appointments through this hotel operator were obtained to execute due diligence services on new assets.
